Usage: | Phencyclidine(PCP) is a dissociative agent structurally related to ketamine. PCP is an anaesthetic that is abused for its hallucinogenic properties and is often referred to as angel dust. Although not fully pharmacologically understood, PCP is a N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptor antagonist. It has a wide range of effects depending on the dose and the patient. Effects include dissociation, euphoria, decreased inhibition, hypertension, tachycardia, and nystagmus. The detection time after smoking PCP is approximately 8 days in the urine. |
